LOOPER

Just in case you have no idea what Looper is about, here is IMDB's mini summary. 
---->In 2074, when the mob wants to get rid of someone, the target is sent 30 years into the past, where a hired gun awaits. Someone like Joe, who one day learns the mob wants to 'close the loop' by transporting back Joe's future self.

I saw Looper a few weeks ago, during veterans day weekend, and I can't say it was what I expected it to be. I thought Looper was going to be a good movie full of "wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff, " as thats was how the plot was described to me by my dad. Looper, set in the future year of 2074 is about a man named Joe (played by Joseph Gordon Levitt) who is an assassin who kills and disposes of the bodies of criminals from the future who are sent back in time for him to kill, which is called closing the loop. Eventually the Loopers will have to close their own loop, which is essentially killing their future selves.
*SPOILER ALERT(I think)*
When Joe has to close his Loop, his future self (Bruce Willis) escapes in the effort to save his wife who was killed while the mobbers were taking him away in the future. He comes to the past to try and stop a man known in the future who is called the rain maker. At this time the rain maker is just a child so future, older Joe was to essentially choke the wed before it grows.

I thought that this movie was very unnecessarily violent and visual. I am not too food of blood and guts and that type of thing, so as you may be able to tell, this movie was not my cup of tea. There was two extremely vivid scenes the still stand out in my mind. One is where future Joe goes to the building where past Joe works, where his boss and many of the other loopers are. He takes his gun and basically goes on a shooting rampage, killing all of the people in the building, and emerges from the scene drenched in the blood of other men. *shudders* If the makers of this movie were trying to make me have nightmares for weeks, they succeeded.

Overall, I found Looper to be a very well made movie with an interesting and unique plot. I thought that they could have used the time travel plot line a bit more than they did, and cold have toned down the violence a few notches.
I give it 3 out of 5 stars.
